FAQs
How do I properly prepare matcha?
To properly prepare matcha, heat water to around 80°C (not boiling). Add two teaspoons of matcha powder to a bowl and pour in about 80 ml of water. Use a matcha whisk and whisk in a zigzag motion until the texture is smooth and lightly frothy. You can enjoy it as it is or add your preferred milk to make a matcha latte.
What is ceremonial grade matcha, and what makes it different from other matcha grades?
Ceremonial grade matcha is the highest quality matcha, crafted from the youngest and most delicate tea leaves. It’s meant to be enjoyed on its own as a tea, without milk or sweeteners, allowing its smooth and balanced flavor to stand out. Lower grades, such as culinary matcha, are ideal for lattes, cooking, and baking, but tend to be less vibrant and slightly more bitter.
Do Matcha Pods Contain Caffeine?
Yes.
Matcha naturally contains caffeine, but unlike coffee, it also includes the amino acid L-theanine. Together, they create a calm, steady energy and focused alertness without the jitters or crash often associated with coffee. One serving from our pods contains a caffeine level similar to a light cup of coffee, but delivers a much smoother, more balanced effect.
How do matcha pods compare to coffee?
Matcha pods offer a smooth, balanced alternative to coffee. While coffee tends to deliver a quick spike in energy followed by a drop, matcha provides a more steady, sustained boost that lasts longer. Naturally rich in antioxidants, it also supports overall wellness. Many people choose matcha pods when they want calm focus and lasting energy without the jitters or overstimulation often associated with coffee.
Do matcha pods get too hot and damage the matcha?
No.
Brewing matcha in Nespresso® compatible pods does not harm its quality. The water temperature used is comparable to what’s typically recommended for traditional preparation with hot water.
Matcha is usually prepared at a controlled heat that helps create a smooth, well-balanced cup without affecting its natural properties. Our pods are carefully engineered and tested to ensure the brewing process preserves the matcha’s vibrant color, antioxidants, and delicate flavor.
The result is a clean, energizing cup of matcha that stays true to traditional quality—made more convenient for everyday use.
